Life is grand

Two principals of InstaPaper that make it work so well are; that when you click an item to read it it is marked as read and; that when you mark a URL to be read later that is already in your list that it doesn’t duplicate the entry or throw an error at you, it just quietly bumps that item to the top of your list.

The other attribute that makes it useful is the quick, simple bookmarklet. No tagging, no selecting, nothing to type in or click.

I would like a “Next item” bookmarklet though (ala. Google Reder Next bookmarklet) and a way to have multiple lists as I find my reading lists get split into “tech. stuff to read later” and “frippary to read later.” Often I am not in the mood to read tech. stuff and feel like a bit of frippary. I could have two InstaPaper accounts I guess.
