Zinadoo mobile website creation launches today

Friday, September 1st, 2006

Head on over to Mícheál Ó Foghlú’s weblog to read about a new company launching from 3CS today. The company is Nubiq and they are launching Zinadoo, a mobile website creation service. I’ve worked with Helene Haughney and the rest of her team in the past and have watched Zinadoo grow from strength to strength.

Great to see such entreupreneurial spirit in Ireland.

Lovely Silos

No idea what accent I am trying to put on but it was funny. Pity it cut off the last bit.

Video at YouTube

Spent a fantastic Sunday with Fi at the infamous Croke Park in Dublin. We watched Waterford take on and beat Tipperary in the Hurling Championship quarter-final.

Go Portugal!

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

Good evening lined up. Beer, supper and France vs. Portugal.

I went into the shop earlier looking for a box of OJ and came out with a six pack of Carlsberg and a pack of crisps. Go figure.

Looking for a digicam

Samsung NV7 OPS

I am in the market for a digicam to go alongside my DSLR. This Samsung NV7 OPS looks beautiful, has good specs and hopefully overcomes my main sticking point with digicams; manual control.

Sadly I already know it doesn’t have a zoom ring, just the usual rocker switch on the back. But does it make changing aperture and shutter quick and easy?

Responsiveness is also another important bit. I was using Fiona’s Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX7 over the weekend and while I liked it I did miss a few shots due to shutter lag. I also pined for an optical viewfinder as during the day the LCD is not always easy to see.

Any other good digicams out there that are targeted at SLR owners?

Day at Ardmore

Sunday, July 2nd, 2006

Had a grand day down at Ardmore. Ate at the Whitehorses restaurant after the cliff walk and I must say it was one of the best restaurant meals I have had in Ireland.

Check out the video from the beach.
